Typhoon quality leadership through international delivery milestones

Matthew led a 10-person Quality Engineering function supporting more than 100 production and inspection personnel during Typhoon manufacturing and international customer delivery.

Evidence basisCareer record; programme milestones separately sourced

Operational control, customer confidence and international delivery.

The sections below separate programme milestones from Matthew's personal operational leadership, team accountability and direct engagement with senior international customer representatives.

01

Challenge

Typhoon manufacturing and international delivery brought production, inspection, engineering, supply-chain and customer acceptance activity together at demanding delivery milestones. Quality status, open issues and acceptance evidence needed a clear senior position as products moved towards customer delivery.

02

Matthew's accountability

Matthew led a 10-person Quality Engineering function supporting more than 100 production and inspection personnel. He represented the Head of Quality when required and held the senior quality interface across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain and customer acceptance activity.

03

Operational leadership

Matthew set quality priorities, coordinated engineering support, strengthened non-conformance and corrective-action governance, and aligned evidence across production and inspection teams. Ageing corrective actions reduced by 15% during this leadership period.

04

International customer leadership

Matthew dealt directly with senior international customer representatives during product acceptance and delivery. He presented the quality position, explained objective evidence and open issues, responded to customer challenge and kept corrective actions, acceptance status and delivery commitments visible.

05

Customer and delivery impact

The approach gave customer representatives a direct senior quality interface and gave internal teams one aligned route for evidence, escalation and acceptance decisions. This supported confidence during international delivery activity while keeping technical and quality issues visible rather than obscured by schedule pressure.

06

Evidence

The confirmed personal measures are 10 Quality Engineers led, support across more than 100 production and inspection personnel, and a 15% reduction in ageing corrective actions. Typhoon programme milestones, including first Qatari flight and delivery during Matthew's tenure, provide programme context and are not presented as outcomes owned by Matthew alone.

Programme milestones during this leadership period

  • First Qatari Typhoon MS001 flew in November 2021.
  • First Qatari Typhoon was delivered on schedule in August 2022.
